The Future of Areoplanes!     The future of areoplanes is exciting for aviation enthusiasts. With Airbus and Boeing creating and producing state of the art areoplanes and Concorde 2.0 on the horizon, what will be the future for the aviation industry? ___     The Boeing 777x is one of Boeing's recent developments. The Boeing 777x is a revamp of the beloved Boeing 777.     Fitted with GE9X engines, the Boeing 777x is faster, bigger and more fuel efficient that its predecessor, the Boeing 777-200/300. The Boeing 777-9  has a range of 7,285nm (13,500km) which is an increase of 1,280nm (2,370) compared to the Boeing 777-300.  The longer wingspan of the Boeing 777-9 helps increase the range and lift of the areoplane, however, this has come with problems. Due to its sheer length, the Boeing 777-9's wingspan is too long for many international airports and Boeing had to resolve this issue. The Boeing 777-9 comes with folding wingtips which...

 The Concorde...

The concorde is still the fastest commercial aeroplane in history. All airliners travel as subsonic speed which means below the speed of sound. However, Concorde traveled at supersonic speeds, reaching speeds that is double the speed of sound.

___

Concorde is still thought of as being one of the biggest inventions of the human race. With a cruising speed of 1,350mph or Mach 2.0 it would complete a transatlantic flight from London to New York in three hours, compared to eight hours a subsonic aeroplane would take.

___

The Concorde was operated by two airlines during its time. British Airways and Air France. This was due to the two countries and their flag carriers joining forces to invest time and money to develop the supersonic jet.

Concorde was an engineering marvel with multiple things taken into account. The famous concorde had to be painted with a specially developed white paint. This paint was created to help the jet regulate and disperse the heat that supersonic flight would generate.

The famous 'Delta Wing' was taken from modern fighter jets such as the 'Eurofighter Typhoon'. Engineers working on Concorde then modified the delta wing slightly to create more efficiency and lift, the result was the 'Ogival' wing.

The Ogival wing was used on the Concorde as it created vortices on the wing tip which produce a great amount of lift at any AOA (Angle of Attack).

___

Concorde was grounded in 2003 due to severe operating costs and scepticism about fuel emissions. Out of 20 Concorde aircraft built, 17 are preserved in museums around the globe.
